If the initial setup started after logging in and all your previously recorded data disappeared, it is possible that you did not log in with your previous account but created a new account instead.
Please check the login method for your original account using the steps below and try logging in again to restore your records.
*There are three ways to log in with a Hobonichi ID: "Email address and password" or "Social account (Apple or Google)". It is possible that you logged in using a different method than your original account, resulting in a new registration.
How to find the login method for your original account (Hobonichi ID)
1. Find the email address of the original account (Hobonichi ID) registered with the "Hobonichi Techo App"
When you registered for the "Hobonichi Techo App", an email with the following subject and sender was sent to you. Please search your inbox for this email using likely email addresses.
*Please look for the email received on the "date" you registered for the Hobonichi Techo App with your original account.

*If you cannot find an email with the above subject, you may have registered with a different email address. Please search for past emails in the inboxes of other email addresses.
*If you registered using Apple account linkage with the "Hide My Email" setting, the email address will be encrypted, looking like "XXXXX@privaterelay.appleid.com".
2. Check the login method of your original account (Hobonichi ID)
When you registered for your "Hobonichi ID", an email with the following subject and sender was sent to you. Please search the inbox of the email address confirmed in step 1 for this email.

If you find the email, please check the email content as it states your login method.

Continue with Google (Social account)
Continue with Apple (Social account)
Log in again with your original account (Hobonichi ID)
Please follow the steps below to log out once, and then log in again with your original account (Hobonichi ID).
Tap "Menu" at the bottom right of the app screen.
Tap "Settings & Payment Information".
Tap the "Log Out" button at the bottom of the screen to log out.
When the "Log In" screen opens after logging out, please log in again using the method confirmed above for your original account.
*Please be careful not to use the wrong login method.
*If you registered with an email address and password and have forgotten your password, please reset it via "Forgot Password?" on the login screen (click here for detailed steps).
