The Hobonichi Techo App can be used by registering and logging in with a "Hobonichi ID"*. Please register using the following procedure depending on whether or not you have a "Hobonichi ID".
*"Hobonichi ID" is an account service that allows you to use multiple services operated by Hobonichi, including the Hobonichi Online Store, with a common account. Click here for details.

Download the app.
Please download the Hobonichi Techo App on your smartphone device. - Tap the "Sign Up" button when you launch the app.
- Check the Terms of Use, check "Agree to Terms of Use", and tap "Next".

Set up your login method using one of the following methods.
Register by setting "Email Address and Password"
Register with "Apple Account" (Tap "Continue with Apple")
Register with "Google Account" (Tap "Continue with Google")

Enter the verification code (Only when registering with Email Address and Password).
An email titled "[Hobonichi] Verification Code Information" will be sent to the email address you entered. Please return to the screen, enter the 6-digit verification code listed there, and tap "Sign Up".*If you do not receive the verification code, please refer to the Help here.
*If you registered with "Apple Account / Google Account", please skip step 5. - When the screen changes to "Hobonichi ID registration is complete!", tap "Return to Hobonichi Techo App".

About settings after registration
Please configure the settings according to the guidance of the in-app character "Senpai". BGM and sound effects will play from here, so please turn the sound ON and enjoy.
*To play sound, you need to turn off silent mode (manner mode).
There are many items to set at first, but once set, your daily events will be recorded automatically.

Register a Nickname
Used when Senpai calls you in the app. You can change it later. -
Register Birthday
Something nice happens when your birthday comes. Please note that the birthday can only be set once and cannot be changed later. -
Register Area of Residence
Used to record the weather for the day.
*If location information can be acquired, the weather of the place you visited that day will be recorded. If location information cannot be acquired, the weather of your Area of Residence will be recorded. -
Set Notifications
Set up reminders to notify you when you want to open the app, and notifications for various news. -
Link Photos
By allowing access to photos and videos on your device, photos and videos stored in your device's camera roll are automatically imported and summarized in the daily timeline. -
Link Location
By linking with location information, the places you visited and the weather that day are automatically recorded in the daily timeline. Please select "Allow While Using App" in the first setting and "Always Allow" in the second setting. By selecting "Always Allow", places visited when the app is not open can also be acquired and recorded in the background.
*You can change the Location Accuracy later. For details, please refer to the Help here. -
Link Calendar
By linking with the standard calendar app installed on your device, schedules registered in the calendar are automatically recorded in the daily timeline.
*If you want to display schedules from another calendar app, please refer to the Help here. -
Link Health
By linking with the Health app on your device, "Steps, Distance traveled, Calories burned, Weight, Sleep duration" are automatically recorded in the daily timeline.
*Information not recorded in the device's Health app will not be displayed.
*If you are an Android user and see a message stating that the "Health Connect" app is required, please refer to the Help here for details. -
Select "Senpai"
"Senpai" appears frequently in the Hobonichi Techo App, talking to you and commenting on records that catch their eye. Please choose your favorite Senpai from the three options.
*The Senpai you choose cannot be changed for a while. -

Great job! The basic settings are now complete. Please enjoy recording with the Hobonichi Techo App.
