Starting at 11:00 AM (JST) on Friday, August 1, 2025, we will introduce a new shipping method “Hikyaku Yu-Packet” for orders within Japan.
The “Hikyaku Yu-Packet” service is designed for smaller items up to 3 cm in thickness and 1 kg in weight. It is a mailbox delivery service provided by Sagawa Express, which hands over parcels to Japan Post. Your order will then be delivered to your mailbox by your local Japan Post carrier. You will be able to select ”Hikyaku Yu-Packet” from the shipping options screen only if your order qualifies for this service.
About Hikyaku Yu-Packet
- Shipping Fee: A flat rate of ¥330 (tax included) nationwide
- Tracking: Tracking is available through Japan Post’s tracking service.
- Delivery Time: Approximately 3 to 7 days after it has been shipped
- Delivery Method: Delivered directly to your mailbox at the specified address.
- Delivery Date/Time Requests: Requests for a specific delivery date or time are not available.
- Payment Methods: Available only for orders paid by credit card or Amazon Pay.
- Eligible Items: Currently limited to certain Hobonichi Techo-related products. Please note that even if your order includes eligible products, “Hikyaku Yu-Packet” may not be available depending on the size, weight, or combination of items in your order.
Important Notes
- The “Hikyaku Yu-Packet” is not available for orders shipping outside Japan.
- The “Hikyaku Yu-Packet” is not available for “Pay later via cash transfer”, or “Cash on delivery.”
- Once you select “Hikyaku Yu-Packet” and complete your order, you will not be able to add more items to it. To add items, please switch your shipping method to “Standard Delivery” and then proceed with adding products.
- Delivery date and time requests are not available with “Hikyaku Yu-Packet.” Please choose “Standard Delivery” if you require a specific delivery date or time.
- Please note that we are unable to ship orders to be held at Sagawa Express branch offices or Japan Post offices.
- Gift wrapping is not available for orders shipped via ”Hikyaku Yu-Packet.”
- It may take several days for the delivery status to be updated in the Japan Post’s tracking service.
- If your order does not fit within Hikyaku Yu-Packet’s size regulations, we may switch your shipping method to “Standard Delivery” at our discretion. In such cases, Hobonichi will cover any difference in shipping fees, so you will still only be charged the Hikyaku Yu-Packet fee of ¥330 (tax included). We will inform you of any changes in your shipping method in the shipping confirmation email.
