As a feature exclusive to the Premium Plan, you can export the important data you have recorded in the Hobonichi Techo App.

Steps to Export

1. Tap Menu at the bottom right of the app.

2. Tap Settings & Payment Info.

3. Tap Device Management.

4. Tap Export (Premium Plan only).
   *If the message "Scheduled for release in December 2025" is displayed and you cannot tap the button, updating the app to the latest version will make it available.

5. Select your desired options for "Export Period", "Export Content", and "Export Format".
   * The larger the amount of data to be exported at once (depending on the period and content selected), the longer it will take to create the data file.
   * Please refer to the next section for details on export formats.

6. Once your selection is complete, tap the "Export" button at the bottom.
   When the confirmation dialog appears, review the details and tap Start to begin the export.

7. When the "Retrieving data" dialog appears, please wait with the app open until it completes.
   * Data cannot be retrieved in the background. If you close the app, the data retrieval process will be cancelled.

8. When the status changes to "Compressing," please continue to wait until it finishes.

9. Once compression is complete, a screen to select the save method will appear. Please select your desired method.

<If saving fails>
If saving fails for any reason, reopen the "Export" screen. A button labeled "Save the last export again" will appear at the bottom, allowing you to retry saving the data.
* If you close and restart the app, the temporary data from the last export will be cleared.

About the differences in export formats

You can select from the following two formats:

• Plain Text (.txt)

  This format saves data as text information. App records such as memos and schedules are exported into a single file in text format. This is a common format that can be read as text in any environment.

• Hobonichi Techo App JSON (.json)

  This format saves data as structured data. While not suitable for reading by humans, it saves data in a complete state, making it useful for restoring data in the future or importing it into another app. This format is suitable for data backups.

* If you have selected "Photos/Videos" in the Export Content, the data will be exported as a ZIP file containing the data in the format above along with the photo/video data.
